Kids abducted, fitted up for a drug bust and harassed by corrupt police; Ben Prime got more than he bargained for when he woke with a hangover on his fortieth birthday in the Costa del Sol.
Based on real-life events, Lives Taken tells the story of a father’s attempt to rescue his children who are caught up in an international conspiracy to protect violent criminals and their police accomplices.
Lives Taken is a race between rescue and revenge. Time is against Ben Prime as he tries to stop his abducted children from becoming the next victims of a suspected paedophile who is also their grandfather. As he tries to save them, Ben stumbles across an international cigarette smuggling network run by an alliance of criminals and corrupt police.
Ben’s six-year-old son, Michael is a witness who can link his uncle, a serving police officer, to the murder of a key player in the network. Ben knows his legal battle in the British courts to recover his kids will only buy time. He frantically searches for evidence to guarantee his family’s safety. Without this, even if he wins in court, the network will kill them all to keep their secrets safe.
When Ben discovers his best friend, Carsten triggered the events that led to his children’s abduction, both men are locked in a race to find Ben’s father-in-law. Can Ben Prime evade the efforts of corrupt police long enough to discover the whereabouts of his children from the same man Carsten has vowed to kill for the death of his nephew? Can Carsten control his lust for revenge long enough to help Ben?
In Lives Taken, the dead are not the only casualties.
